We call on the Government to abandon the Digital ID project immediately.
This scheme risks giving the state unprecedented control over ordinary citizens. It was never approved by voters, is costing taxpayers, and risks becoming compulsory in practice.
Serious security concerns have also been reported. Whistleblowers have warned the One Login system on which plans are based may even be compromised already.
The Government has ignored public concern - even after 3 million people signed a previous petition - showing a lack of accountability and respect for civil liberties.
For the sake of privacy, security, and democracy, this project should be scrapped.
We, the undersigned, demand the Digital ID project be stopped immediately.
